Robotics Competition

The Student Division Robotics Competition (SDRC) was established in 2002 with teams from ATMAE schools competing with robotic devices they built on their home campuses. The winning teams earn bragging rights in addition to prize money contingent on event sponsorships.

The Student Division leaders recently reviewed student chapter feedback and member responses to a survey on the impact of COVID-19 on-campus activities. As a result of the feedback, the division leadership made a very difficult decision to defer the 2020 Robotics Competition to the 2021 annual conference in Orlando, Florida. This is mainly due to the inability for most student teams to meet physically on their campuses this fall. We want to encourage and support institutions’ decisions to provide a safe environment. For this year’s 2020 conference, the student activities will focus more on industry engagement, career networking, workshops, and more.

The SDRC 2021 Rules will be posted soon
